I have a 2000 s-10 blazer 4 door 4x4. a few months ago my service 4wd light started to come on every few times i drove the truck. It would come onand stay on until you shut off the engine. then things started to get wierd, when I would start the truck in the morning the 4-lo button would flash and if I shifted through nuetral the truck would slam into 4-lo. If i was paying attention and saw the light flash, i could wait and it would time out and stay in 2wd. when it shifted itself into 4wd I would have to play with the buttons for a while to get it to shift back into 2wd. after a while it quit shifting into 4lo and started shifting to 4hi by itself, now it has quit completly. i am wondeering if anyone has any idea what could cause this and Im also wondering if it is possible to change this particular tranfer case into a manual shift. thank you for your time and ideas!!

I had the same thing happen on my '01. It got to the point where the switch was going nuts even when the truck was off. It killed the battery a few times - I had to pull the fuse to stop it.
Unfortunately, I can't help you with an answer, but I feel your pain.

From what I've heard, to replace the motor that shifts it into 4wd is about $500. It's definitely not worth it. There is another device that is a lot cheaper that gives you full control of the 4wd and lets you shift into it a lot easier. I do not know what it's called though, someone else will tell you,
