Default Torsion key removal

I just spent the last couple of hours trying to remove the torsion keys from the torsion bars. I tried heating them with a propane torch but I can't get them cherry hot.I tried letting them sit in brake fluid. I just can not get either of them off. Any suggestions???

You can try an air chisel and lots of penetrating fluid. I was in the same boat. I had the lower arms out, the torsion bars, and the torsion bar xmember all out. I battled those things to get the torsion bars out of the a arms and 1 key. I couldn't get the last one and had to take it to a buddy's welding shop and they heated the key with an oxy acetelyne (sp) torch till red hot and hammered it out in about 2.5 mins. I think that may be your only option to get it cherry hot. If you are doing that with it in the truck, have water, fire extinguisher, extra set of hands, a punch and a bfh.
