Default Need Help Please!

I'm brand new to hear because my everyday vehicle blew the rear so I swapped it out but realized after it was a ZR2 rear end that i put in.... I have an LT 4 door 4X4 .... So the universal joint is different and a little wider can I put the ZR 2 universal in my Regular driveshaft? Or what is the best way to go about this? I figured this would be the place to come for answers... Any help would be greatly appreciated... Thanks Ray

If the u joint from the zr2 is wider than that of the one on the LT then probably not. But if the u joint will fit flush with the driveshaft then yes.

Ray, I don't think the ZR2 U-joint will fit a standard drive shaft.

There are a bunch of different drive shafts for these things. Is yours a 2 door or a 4 door? And the ZR2 donor, was it a 2 door or 4 door?

Best case, you need a ZR2 drive shaft that matches your transfer case and vehicle specs. Worst case, you need to take your vehicle and drive shaft to a driveline shop and have a custom drive shaft made to fit your vehicle and the ZR2 pinion shaft U-joint flange.

I see part numbers for drive shafts for 2 door ZR2's with either the NP1 or NP8 transfer cases. I don't see a 4 door ZR2 drive shaft at all.

Zr2 option was only offered on 2 door models. The Zr2 rear differential is 4 inches wider than a standard 4x4 blazer. WMS (wheel mounting surface) distance for a zr2 is 63", standard 4wd is 59" to 59.5". That's enough to have a negative effect on the handling.

I appreciate it guys! I found a conversion universal (which I didn't know was an option) so it fits the regular driveshaft and the Zr2 one rear in 1 u joint. The rear is a big difference as far as size now the from end looks out of place was thinking of doin some spacers or rims maybe to offset the look... Any Ideas? I figured I went this far I might as well take it the rest of the way.... What do you guys have done? Rim size offsets? I need to get some ideas

different rims might look funny just in the front. I may go with spacers but dont get to crazy. Wider spacers put a lot of stress on your suspension parts.
