Smile New to this forum! 2001 Blazer ZR2 question

First off I would like to say that I'm excited to get to meet you all. I traded a 1984 Corvette *yes it was crossfire* for a 2001 Blazer Zr2. The only issue i've had with it *Other than a passenger side wheel bearing* We got dumped on with snow last saturday. What a great day to try out 4 wheel drive. I drove less than a mile to the store to get some things. While driving my front end made a loud series of sounds. They sounded like a loud tap *a tunk if you will lol* It does not make the sound in 2 wheel drive *It's also doens't drive well in snow in two wheel either lol* Being new to 4 wheel drive, I do know some of the basics *Don't drive on dry pavement* I just don't really know where to start. Thnk you for all your help :-)

What transfer case do you have? If you can post a picture of the RPO codes in the glove box, that would be even better.

A "tunk" sound may be your passenger side axle not fully engaging. Start at the vacuum actuator and go from there.

Well, I think it's my front diff. Now if I click on 4 wheel hi, the light just blinks which if I remember, that means that the front axle can engage? I also get a faint grinding sound from the front diff. I'm going to pull the drain plug just to see if it's empty or not. I hope the front diff isn't 100% messed up.
