Default New xfer case motor...still no 4wd lights

Hello all, new to the forum. Anyways,
Have a 1999 Blazer LS 4.3L Vortec v6. I am having trouble with the four wheel drive. I went to push the button for 4 hi and it clicked and the lights on my buttons flashed, then went out. The truck was locked in 4 lo actually after that and couldn't get it out. took it to the dealer, they got it back into 2hi by cycling button pushes and cycling ignition turns, all the time they were doing this i heard the motor in the transfer case sound really bad then finally it popped and dropped it into 2hi. They wanted 700 bones for the fix. Screw that. I replaced the encoder motor because thats what they said it was, I know it is in right (only 1 way) and the harness is hooked back in real tight. I still have no 4wd or lights on my dash. It is 3 button 4wd, not auto. I had to drop the drive shaft, so i took it for a spin to make sure everything was ok and it was...just no 4wd lights. Could it be the tccm? Thanks for looking and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!
