Default noise when turning

99 2 door 4 wheel drive. When I turn right I hear a moaning noise. Sometimes when I turn right and it's doing it if I give it gas it will stop. The only thing I have changed out dealing with this sort of stuff since I've owned it were the lower ball joints. I cant really pinpoint whether it's coming from the front or rear

When you turn it all the way? I know it sounds stupid, but low power steering fluid makes a moaning.

It's not the power steering. I checkef that. It moans when I turn right, but if I accelerate while turning it goes away. I have a code with something to do with the left speed sensor I think. That it?

speed sensor is mounted in the bearing hub assembly

So would that be correct? Turning right would shift the weight over causing thr left side to make that noise?

Each hub assembly has 2 sets of ball bearings, side by side. If a bearing is starting to fail, when the bearing is loaded, it makes noise. When you turn right, the left outer and right inner sets of bearings are loaded, and the left inner and right outer are unloaded. On a left turn, the opposite happens. In the early stages of failure it can be difficult to determine where the noise is coming from. Best to use a stethoscope. After they're worn, you can usualy see/feel looseness when you jack it up and wiggle the tire.

When a hub assembly is failing, is the noise kind of a high pitched whine? When I am making left turns I get a noise like that from what seems to be the right side of the truck. Braking doesn't make the noise change, and it's not a "scraping" sound, more like a high pitched "hum"? If that makes any sense. With the truck jacked up I tried spinning the wheel by hand to see if there was a noise, but there wasn't. Also checked to make sure that the brake dust shield wasn't scraping the rotor, but it seemed to have good clearance. Bad hub assembly sound right in this case?

Also, if I do replace the assemblies, is Raybestos a good brand to use? I know Timken is the preferred brand, but was hoping the Raybestos would be a slightly cheaper alternative.

Anyone have any comment on my previous post? I didn't want to start a new thread, should I though? Kind of a quick and easy question.
