Hey all, 99 blazer, lifted on 35s. My buddy has an old one ton dually full floater axle (ratio unknown) that is from an old motorhome that I can take off his hands for no charge. So I was thinking, could I put this under my blazer with the stock 4.3? How bad would it bog it down? Alright, I know I could do it, but should I?

guess it all depends on the gearing, most 14bolts have 4.11's in them. with 35s it will probably be slow in 2wd/4wd but 4low it might be doable depending on how good the engine is.

i have 1/2 ton axles with 33/14.00 boggers in my 93 s10 with a 3.73 gear ratio with the stock engine and transmission.

in 4low it does ok i definitely wouldnt want to go any bigger. it can spin the heck out of the mud but if im climbing a steep dry dirt incline with it floored its definitely straining to spin them tires but it will do it even with the locked rear differential.

also take into consideration that axle with drum brakes weighs 500lbs and is going to have 8 lugs in the back. thats why i went with half tons, the 14bolt is pretty big and is going to be dragging the center of every rut
