Piman arm advice please, (RHD)
afternoon all from the U.K., took my 1998 Chevrolet Blazer LT 4.3V6 in for it's MOT test yesterday and it failed on the pitman arm, I have been told that because my Blazer is a right hand drive it is different to the left hand drive pitman arms? is this so? have contacted Chevrolet U.K. and they did not have a clue at all, have contacted Rockauto and they said they couldn't sell it to me as theirs is listed as for left hand drive and not right hand drive.
it's the same with the left hand rear brake caliper, are they interchangeable between left hand and right hand drive cars?
many thanks Tony

found this on a auction thing on some random site. (sorry, nothing for sale on it)
" The RHD pitman arm has a bend to clear some chassis and the lhd one is straight so would probably not have full lock in one direction. "
try contacting these guys

thnk you, have been suggested by dobirotty to buy a LHD one and have the bushing pressed out and put into my RHD one, think that's the way im going to go, (thanks Midge) will post a photo of it once I have taken it off.

The rear calipers are the same for LHD as RHD - I replaced both mine last year, got them from RockAuto & they went on without a problem.
Please keep us posted regarding your pitman arm as it's a real problem for any RHD owners who might need one, GM discontinued the RHD pitman arms a couple of years ago. I dread the day I might have to try & get one, in the meantime I religiously grease mine every couple of months to (hopefully) make it last as long as possible.
