I have a 2001 GMC Jimmy and I'm going to replace my pinion seal, the only problem is that i dont know whether its the 7.65 ring or the 8 in. ring gear in it. The parts guy told me that its not a he couldn't fingure it out with the vin or gear ratio... I just need to know what seal its going to be.

 

I'd pull it out and bring it up. I usually do that anyways. You can give him the right size and he will screw it up anyways
