Default PLEASE HELP! I think I broke it!

I was greasing the chassis of my 02 blazer, and I think i overfilled my upper balljoint. I put about 10 pumps in when grease started to leak out the bottom of my ball joint. I dont think i tore the boot, i think it is just leaking from the space where the rubber boot seals against the metal housing. Did I just ruin my ball joint or is it perfectly ok to have some grease squirt out at first?

That is how you know you have it full!

If you have wiped it down and cannot find any cracks/splits in the boot, it is perfectly fine. There isn't really anything keeping the grease from coming out except for the compression of the boot between the steering knuckle and the control arm. It isn't a perfect seal, nor does it need to be.
