Problem
All of this started about 4 weeks ago. it first started when i was going down the highway and my steering wheel just started shaking back and forth about a eigth of a turn each way. needless to say i kinda freaked. i went to go get it checked out, and the mechanic says there is absolutely nothing wrong, everything is fine, the ball joints tie rods everything. It doesnt happen all of the time though, i can kinda tell when its gonna happen, the steering wheel will start to pulsate to the right. Sometimes its small enought to just shake the body side to side. Does anybody know what this might be. Ive checked the tires already, and there tight. It does need new front brake pads and rotors. but im about 90% sure thats not it. Any help would be awesome.
i second the balancing, i had an 89 civic that shook like crazy at speed, i chalked it up to old car, no power steering and bad lo pros, after a blow out, go a new tire remounted and balanced and the car rode a lot better, well, as good as lowered 89 civic on a 50 series is going to ride anyway. it always shook a small bit while driving but was more pronounced the more the wheel rolled
