Rear Diff Lock?
#1
This may be a really dumb question but I will ask anyway. Is there a way I can lock and unlock my rear diff? I was thinking about welding the rear end but then again this is my DD and I really don't know what to expect with it welded.

if u weld it then good luck steering/turning. really not a good idea for a dd (or any road vehicle for that matter). That should only be done on a dedicated trail rig.

DO NOT weld your DD rear end. If you really want to install a locker, start off with a drop in lock-right locker and go from there.

+1. Buy something you can you can drop in like an E-Locker, or something like that.

10-4 guys but can you engage and disengage the locker? Thats what I am looking for.

That's why I suggested an E-locker. You can engage the locker with a flip of a switch. I've seen it on Extreme 4X4.

The reason I recommended a drop in locker like the Lock-Right is because it can be installed in your driveway without really knowing the specifics of how to properly setup a differential.
Obviously a selectable locker (ARB air locker, Eaton E-locker, OX cable locker, etc) would give you the option of unlocking the diff, but for the cost and installation complexities...
