Rear differential problem 94 s10 4x4
#11
Hey guys, wanted to post an update real quick..I finally made it home.Had to trailer the Blazer back on a U-Haul,but at least I got er home. This may sound like an irrational question, but let's say a person removed the rear pinion shaft, would that render the Blazer inoperable,or would it still operate as a roller, given the vehicle has front wheel drive?I'm determined to get the necessary parts and fix this truck, but unfortunately it's my only vehicle at the moment.I can imagine the perplexed expression on a person's face while reading this.I know how it sounds, but I will fix this truck.

I've actually done similar. The problem is that you need oil in the rear end to lube the axle bearings, so you would need to plug the pinion hole, as well as the hole in the transfer case where the driveshaft goes. If you can do that, it should work. Temporarily, at least.
