Default Replacing CV shafts, ran into an issue

Im in the middle of replacing upper and lower ball joints, and both CV axles, now, i've replaced CV's on multiple cars before and never had a problem.

im currently trying to get the drivers axle back into the diff, but it just wont go, usually they just push right in and click and bam done. but this *$#&@$ wont go back into the diff, am i doing something wrong here?

any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

Sometimes it takes a few attempts to get the splines lined up, but when you do it will pop in.

EDIT: what year?

if you look at the part that goes into the houseing there is a little gap on the snap ring that is in there. you have to face that gap either up or down. i forgot its been like a year or so since i did one. but yeah once you line that gap up it usually goes right in. use a big plasic or rubber hammer and line it up and smack that sucker in there too

i got it in there, after i put the spindle back on however, i realized my local auto zone had given me ZR2 axles, either that, or this one was busted, its about 3" too long.....

so back to the store i go, thanks for the help though guys
