Default sagging back end

my truck was used to tow a 21' bass boat before i owned it (more weght than thecapacities of a blazer) now the back end saggs if i got the block that goes under the leaf would that bring it close to normal or should i stay away from them i think its a 1 or 2 inch block

Considering that the leaf springs arch beneath the axles on s-series rear axles, adding a 1' or 2' block would lower your back end. If you mean shackles, a 2' shackle would bring you back up, but that would just be hiding the problem. What you need is an add-a-leaf or you need to have your springs re-arched.

+1

If you springs have sagged that much, you really need to have a good look at them. You may be able to re-arch them, but look very closely for cracked leaves. Many times, one of the internal leaves will crack, causing the sag.

I think the saggy-*** syndrome is synonomous with blazers, especially with first gens. (Like mine) I just added shackles and brought it back up, and beyond normal ride height. The springs were in great shape and didnt need re-arching. I also tweaked the front torsion bars and brought it back level. Next step is to do the "redneck" body lift tomorrow!

I have/had the same problem with my 2000 blazer. I put a pair of Rough Country add-a-leafs on and it solved my problem with the back end sagging when pulling our 5000 lb horse trailer or speed boat. However, the ride is a bit rougher, more truck like than before, but thats fine. My problem is that the rear is now about 2 or more inches higher than the front. How can I raise the front end to level my vehicle? I have heard about raising the torsion bars but that might cause a problem with cv joints and ball joints (just had them replaced at 98000 miles). any suggestions? even with trailer hooked up it still is higher in the back. I do like the way the add-a-leafs do their job though.
