Sensatrac advice
Hi,
I recently purchased a 99 s10 trailblazer edition with 211k and it needs
shocks.
I have searched the forums here and it seems the sensatrac fits
the kinda of driving I will be doing here in Minn.
Not sure if I need to install the coilover model for the rear,
I plan on occassionally towing a 16ft alum fishing boat, or a 5x8 utility trailer
with a snowmobile or atv in it.
What you recommend for this towing load ? regular sensatrac or coilover ?
Thanks,
Chris99

I'm not sure what you searched for because I know I have posted this a few times in the past, but here goes again.
I ran the Sensatrak with load assist coil over rear shocks on my '00 Bravada for the added load capacity. I was carrying around ~300lbs of tools in the back and the coil overs helped the suspension stay at near stock height with the tools in the back. Made it ride a bit more truck like, but not too bad.
I doubt that either of your trailers put 300lbs of tongue weight onto the back of the truck, but if you notice that the back of the truck sags when you have the trailers on, you might want to consider the coil overs. If not, I would go with the reflex shocks in the back. I had them on the front of my Bravada and really liked how firm they were.

Thanks for your input.
I was concerned that the reflex would be much stiffer than sensatrac
in the rear, but will reconsider using them on the rear.
I will be doing the shocks myself, so not sure I can return a pair of shocks
after installing them if I don't like it 'em.
The only parts houses here are Oreilly or Advance, I will check to see if
they will exchange sensatracs for reflex if I am not happy.
Tks again.
