Default shocks from summit for my 88 s-10 blazer

funny first post I guess (should probably do the intro thing but anyway)

Ordered summit branded racing shocks from summit for my 88 4 wheel drive s10 blazer... shocks arrive and they are eyelet bottoms but threaded shaft tops.

Chat'd online w/ summit support to say they are the wrong shocks because mine are eyelet top and eyelet bottom -the 2 wheel drive s10 pickup I have is threaded shaft for the top... But, they say the shock is correct.

Does the top part of the old shock thread off and go on the new shock?

or,

Is it the incorrect shock and no one has ordered correct front shocks from summit? (chat rep today told me every brand would get me the same type shock as delivered)

The rep told me I can measure my old shocks eyelet to eyelet in both the compressed and extended dimension and order shocks w/ those dimensions. Will this be the route I have to choose?

sweet, so, when you swap the 350 into the 4x4 blazer -is that a 2 wheel drive conversion.

And, what is it just the procedure for summit to send the wrong fronts?

No mine are still 4x4 after the swap. I've never had the wrong item from summit before so I'm not sure. What's the part number on the shocks you received?

ha ha -guess I'm being sarcastic... I'm still totally confident w/ summit. Just a little discouraged because this front shock thing is something of a fiasco -and I didn't really like the rep's lack of concern for a resolution.

Summit Racing SUM-G77028 - Summit Racing® Sport Truck Shocks - Overview - SummitRacing.com

funny, it says "image is a representation..." but that's the shock they sent - only it's a black cylinder and "ground force" branded.

Do you have a thread or anything describing this V8 conversion?

Well, summit has fixed this. In the sense that I send the wrong ones back, and buy the new correct ones. So some KYB gas-a-just shocks are on their way to me now.

Kinda bummed there's not a correct "summit brand" shock to match the rears but :idk:
