Shorter rear axle

Shorter rear axle
Reading up on the arguments on whether wheel spacers are safe or not, and the extra load put on the bearings, I'd still like to put rear spacers on my Blazer. I have a 4.5" offset on my new rims, and I just wanna put spacers on the rear to even them out with the front. What's a good size to put on the rear? Fronts have no spacers, but I figure an inch on the rears would match them up pretty evenly. Also, like I read, there's less load on the rear than the front. Not trying to start another spacer discussion. Just looking to see what a good size would be before I decide to buy them at all.

RE: Shorter rear axle
Huh i didnt think that the reg blazers had different sized axles. I have a ZR2 and i know the front stick out 1.25 inches more then the back. Most people get 1.25 inch spacers for the rear and it evens it up good. But like i said it may be different for ur reg blazer.

RE: Shorter rear axle
Yep I guess they all do. I wonder if it's for a reason though, maybe it helps support load since they have a closer center of gravity. One thing I noticed about the Blazer leaf springs is no matter how old, they never tend to sag, but the front doesn't support the engine weight too well so it's lower. Just a guess though. Since we're getting like 14 inches of snow in this part of NY today I can't really take the wheels off, but I'll try taking measurements. 1.25 sounds about right though after reading up on a bunch of people who have wider spacers in the back. You can tell just looking at my avatar the difference.

RE: Shorter rear axle
People typically use 1.25" to 1.5" spacers.
