i noticed that my 99 2 door zrt blazer sits lower in the back than in the front and the more i look at other blazers the more i see this same phenomenon. does anyone know why this is or more importantly, how to fix it?

 

usually suv's are going to be raked forward...so the front should sit lower. If the front is higher, you've got some leaf spring sag. You can fix it with an add-a-leaf to stiffen it back up, have the springs re-arched, or get some shackles to lift the back end back up!

 

I wouldn't go with the shackle route if the springs are actually sagging. If they are sagging, you either need to add more support, have them reconditioned (re-arched) or replace them. You run the risk of snapping a spring if it remains sagged for too long.

Is an add-a-leaf, the cheapest way to go, aside from shackles which dont sound like a real safe idea?

 

Not sure on the install, and definitely no to the shackles. I didn't consider the spring snap. A shackle would just be covering up the problem...not fixing it.

Also there are short AAL and long AAL...can't remember which one...haha...but one of them (I wanna say the long) will give you a stock ride..whereas the short AALs (while cheaper) will give you a stiffer ride out back.

 

does anyone know how high the truck should be so I can tell if it actually is the back low or if the front is high. What gas level should you have when measuring these dimensions and should they be from the ground or center of the wheel?

I actually just fixed my sagging leafs today. I bought an add a leaf kit. http://www.suspensionconnection.com/...con/85350.html It says it lifts 2" but it raised mine 3-4"

 

i gave up on the shackles (too many people said they were bootleg and changed the angle of the drive shaft) or the add a leaf (people said they would make the ride much stiffer and also changed the angle of the drive shaft) and broke down and bought springs for about 300$ which should return the vehichle to new stock height and ride. Thanks for the replies though.
