Default Steering "Wander"

Okay im pondering... 2003 S10 ZR2 I'm having an issue with steering, mainly wander. All steering components up front are new as well as control arms and tires with an alignment done after installation. My thought... I'm wondering if the front axle or the tcase is fully disconnected from the drive train. That's the way the "wander" feels, like it's in 4wd. I know something isn't because only one wheel grabs in an "off kilter" situation but it still feels to me like SOMETHING is still connected. Anyone else have this issue before? There's other things that are pointing me towards the fact there's not a total disengagement. 1. Extremely high fuel consumption even for a 4.32. Vibration at around 55-65mph that feels like a slight ujoint Vibration3. During extended 55mph+ trips when coming to a stop it feels like... imagine if you will back when we were kids and stuck playing cards in the spokes of our bicycles. That's the sound/feel it makes, you go under 5mph and the sound goes away.
I am aware that the first thing people are going to probably say is replace the gear, and that was my first thought as well but there is not enough travel in the wheel to lead me to the gear or the rag joint.
Let's discuss...

Truck pictured is my 01 not my 03
