Strange noise in front end
Our '94 S-10 4wd has a humming nois that feels like it is coming fron the left front. When driving straight or turning right it disappears but with only a tad of left turning (like adjusting direction when going straight) it makes this humming sound. It can be felt through the steering wheel. It started with a few insidents where it started humming stronger and stronger before it ended with a loud clunk-then all well. This has not happened for a few months but it still makes this humming noise. Any ideas? I am new to this type 4wd and really need some help!
Sounds like wheel bearings. Jack the front up and turn the wheel by hand to try and pin point the source of the sound. Try to move the wheel up/down. Humming while turning in one direction is prolly wheel bearings. What about driving in reverse, does the noise change?
I replaced the left wheel hub and the car felt pretty good for a while but then the humming came back whit a little different sound. I comes in at like 20mph and stayes there untill I slow down again. The sound is now not affected by turning the steering wheel. It can be felt through the steering wheel a little. What can cause this?
