Strange "shift" when braking
#1
I very recently changed all ball joints and the idler arm out on my truck to fix this issue, but to no avail. When I brake fairly heavily, there seems to be an odd "shift" in my steering. It feels like it pulls to the right, requiring a quick turn to driver in order to correct. It will suddenly jerk after a few moments and continued braking, and will do it on command if forceful braking is applied. After letting off the brakes in both situations, after about a one second delay, the steering returns to normal. I recently drove into an abandoned parking lot and tried it without holding the wheel. The truck went straight during braking without pulling one way or the other. The steering wheel itself jerked to driver and then turned back to passenger once braking ceased. I'm about out of ideas, and my passenger front tire is beginning to cup pretty badly as a result. Ideas?

I noticed this on my truck also
My front end needs work tho since my steering is really loose and I thought it was my calipers but my pads are even
I hardly notice it a lot tho

Well, I'm sitting in Firestone getting their lifetime alignment. I figure it can't hurt and is an investment I've been meaning to make for a long time. It's $20 off right now as well so I'm striking while the iron is hot as they say. I'll keep you posted on what it does or does not do.

Seems like the alignment fixed it. They said it was so far out that it wouldn't register until after they fiddled with it.
