Default suspension knocking

ok i am in the process of totally rebuilding my 01 xtreme blazer from bottom to top. i started with the front end suspension. i replaced everything. ball joints, tie rods, ca bushings and sway bar bushings. i also replaced the ps pump and steering gear box. before i replaced all of that i was getting a knocking sound when i hit bumps( just like it was a ball joint). now that i have replaces all of that brand new, i have the same knock. i can not figure out what it is. i dont think it would be the wheel bearing, it isnt roaring. its coming from the pass side.any ideas?

Does it stop when you apply the brakes?

You stated you replaced the sway bar bushings, but what you describe sounds exactly like either sway bar frame bushings or end links. Did you replace the end links also? Are your new frame bushings fitting tight all the way around sway bar?

There is a way to check this by relieving the load on the sway bar, grabbing it with your hand and moving it. You will hear the same sound.

yea i replaced everything. it checked out ok. think it could be a motor mount? it was there before i replaced everything. i thought it was a ball joint bc thats what it sounds like but i replaced them. think maybe it could be motor mount hitting metal to metal? only thing i can think of.

Info about front end clunking noises - S-10 Forum

edit, that noise seems to come into play at slower speeds and turning.

are you sure your shocks are tightened all the way?

also, one of my buddies had a clunk which they thought was suspension related, turned out to be the battery was not securely bolted down under the hood.
