I stand corrected. Thanks for straightening things out for me.

I need shift motor help
To answer your original question. I'm pretty much doing the same thing at the moment. I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer with the NV236 auto 4wd dr. I got a 1998 Gmc Jimmy wich had the NV233 in it, that is what i'm swapping. I haven't got it all figured out yet, but I keep getting closer and closer. At the moment I am kinda of stuck because I need diagrams for the two different tccm's I need the pinout for them, because the wiring is quite different between the two. I've had to splice wiring harnesses and and plugs, but I might bag it and try to mount a lever on the t-case. If you got the NV231 it would probably make a better swap. Before you tear into stuff, I would try to get all the wiring diagrams. I should have done that first. If I had a camera I would post some pictures and things I ran into. You might need to get more from the vehicle than you think though. The VSS was different, so I had to find the plug that went to it to splice into my current one. Let me know what t-case you are getting. That might be easier than me listing everything to you, some stuff you may not need to use.
Cambow I have a 2000 blazer and i need a new shift motor but dont know which code. Mine sounds just like yours. I have the 4 button setup. 2hi,4hi,4lo, and 4x4 auto. Its a 2000 4dr. Is mine also the nv236????

More than likely you would have a NP236 transfer case. You would need a shift motor that fits that transfer case. If you want to double check, you can look at the back of the t-case (there will be a 1" diameter piece of sheet metal with the type of t-case it is) for the part number.

I looked once. where exactly should i set my eyes like which side etc...??

If your underneath the vehicle, put your feet towards the engine and your head toward the rear axle. the transfer case will be under the driverside of the vehicle. The Identification plate will be on the back of the t-case midway up pretty-much right behind the front driveline on the case. If you've done a lot of off-roading it might be covered with some mud. you will need a little flash light. If i remember right the top number will say either nv236 or np236 if it is that t-case which it probably is. Just more clarification, if your underneath like I said it will bee on the driverside of the t-case. It will be close to the filler-plug. I'm sorry i don't have any pictures

check this link out. It will give you an example of what one looks like. Yours will say different numbers, but this should give you a good idea.
Hopefully it helps.

So if i have a 97 2dr 4x4 with 3 button control it has to be a np233 and the 231's are all manual shift?

The np233 would be a 3 button dash switch. The np231 is a total manual shift transfer case.
