I been looking around and I see allot of people disconnect there sway bars and take them off. My question is what's the point of this? I want to use my blazer as a daily driver and for having fun off road so would it be a good or bad idea to take the sway bar's off.

I know this question might be dumb to some.

 

You really don't want to have your front sway bar disconnected for daily driving. Your truck will have WAY more body roll in corners and it could cause an accident. The sway bar reduces body roll by connecting both sides of the front suspension so that when one side is compressed it compresses the other side too to keep the truck level.

People disconnect their front sway bar for offroading because it allows the front independant suspension to act...wait for it... independantly. This way one side can compress upwards and the other side can droop down and keep both wheels in contact with the ground a lot better in rough terrain.

Do a search on sway bar disconnects on the forum here. There's probably a how-to writeup somewhere here. A number of people have built quick disconnects to allow them to quickly disconnect the sway bar and swing it out of the way for offroading, and then connect it back up when they're done and heading home.

 

Yea I know it reduces body roll I was just wonering what the point is when your off roading.

Don't take them off altogether, build disconnects. If all you do is play in the mud then don't bother.
