tie rods arent the same. Dont count em.

So,ive noticed something on the last 2 sets on chevy cars ive done. You know the regular ol "count the threads" thing. Well, ive done it twice on 2 different gms. Aftermarket stuff is different. Just finished a astro van. HUGE difference. passenger way out, way out.
aka, dont trust the cheaper stuff as itll be off. Get it as perfect as u can then have it aligned. Alignment is MUST. his alignment was way off. the passenger tire was way off. aftermarket stuff is longer.

when I do them I usually go with Moog, and I don't count threads, I usually use a paint marker, mark and let dry, then pull off the rod. I line up center of back to center of back usually at grease ports so I leave one fitting on and the other I take off so then fitting sits in back of other rod. Now I mark side by side the threaded end with the mark on OEM let dry and reinstall. Now that trick I've used on a variety of makes and models and usually comes pretty close every time. I do usually align after anyway, but then if needed I can wait if in a bind.

the counting thing is basically just to get it close so that you can drive it to the alignment shop. if you want to get it closer than that, i would suggest using a tape measure or something like that to measure it. its all about length.

correct.
The passenger side looked like you have the steering wheel turned half way. I just loosened the adjustment sleeve and pulled her in until it looked right, then went straight to the alignment shop. The alignment guy spent at least a hour on it. Im sure he was cussing me the whole time.EVERYTHING was off lol
