Tink and rattle sound
Ok on my 19974x4 blazer lt with 157k on it. When i turn it will make a tink and then when you excelerate it will have a rattle sound to it seems to be coming from drivers side rear end??? I just had the front upper and lower ball joints replaced 6,000 miles ago. Any ideas what it is and it does not do it every single time. The rattle goes away if it happens after you reach 25-30miles an hour.
Hello Janddcunningham,
Not sure if you noises are like mine or not. I have been getting a tinkering from under
my car also. It also comes and goes. I can hear at especially when I first start out
After the car is running and warmed up.
Once it's there it stays. I first thought it was coming from my transfer case.
Yesterday I topped off the Transfer case with fluid just to make sure it was filled.
It was. I also put new universal joints on only because my vehicle needed them.
They were the originals. I also did a Trans filter and fluid change for regular maintenance.
And also checked the front Differential to make sure it was topped off. It was.
When I had it over at the Repair shop, it would not make the noise. We had it up
on a hoist. Maybe it needs to be under load.
I'll have to take it back over to the shop once it appears again when I get the chance.
My noise really sounds like a tinkering then rattling also as you increase the gas.
Mine kind of appears after the car warms up a bit. It sound pretty noticeable at very low RPMs.
But like yours it comes and goes.
Well anyway I will be watching you post.
If I come up with anything I'll let you know.
