Found out these are GL code torsion bars. They are one step below the highest on the list I linked to earlier. 8782 is the torque rating in ft/lbs. I'm still curious as to what our Blazers' torque rating is.

GL
8782 15528965 (LH) 15528966 (RH)

8782ft/lbs?? WOW!

A little under 4 times as high as the highest s-series bars:

now that ive said that here is the list of bars gm made
Part Number Bar Dia. NOM Torque
LH 15956501 26.63mm 1052
RH 15956502 26.63mm 1052
LH 15956503 27.94mm 1276
RH 15956504 27.94mm 1276
LH 15956505 29.36mm 1450
RH 15956506 29.36mm 1646
LH 15956509 30.69mm 1883
RH 15956510 30.69mm 1883
LH 15956511 32.51mm 2305
RH 15956512 32.51mm 2305

The old ones had settled two inches since i got it. they were the 27.94mm bars. Put in the 30.69mm bars off a 03 zr2 with 33,xxx miles. I must say, it drives more like a 4x4. feels alot more stable going over bumps.

I have a feeling the bars would be much larger than the openings you have. I may be wrong, though.

Yes, I did read that the higher the rating, the thicker the bar. Makes sense.

I just saw them for $25 and low miles and I started to salivate.

^Do you really need that strong of a bar to hold up the front end with the brush guard? lol. BTW I really like the image of your blazer with the camaro SS wheels in your sig. Looks like it will really stand out from the rest, yet look like it could have been bought off the dealer lot like that.

It's not to hold up the weight of the brush guard. My passenger's side t-bar is nearly maxed out and it still sags lower than my driver's side which only has a few cranks on it.

Thanks about the SS rims. I can count the amount of S-Series trucks I've seen with these rims on one hand. And I believe most of those have been lowered. The only other one I saw that was lifted had them painted black.

ZR2 bars are thicker and have more load capacity. Word on the street is that about half cranked on the ZR2 bars is maxed out on stock ones, and you still have room to lift.

I fought with the zr2 bars for about a month and they are working good and beefy!
