Default RE: Transfer case replacement

New one is going to be expensive!! You're better off rebuilding yours. I had to have some bushings replaced in the TC on my old '97 Ram 4x4 quite a few years ago and it ended up costing me $400 worth of parts and labor. I didn't have the time to tear it down myself and I needed the truck.

That is besides the point. What makes you think that the TC needs replacing? I would have to suggest you get it diagnosed properly first before jumping to conclusions.

BTW, this definitely relates to your previous thread (4x4 problems). To avoid confusion and duplicate replies later on, you may want to keep this all in one place...

Default RE: Transfer case replacement

Yea, sorry about making 2 threads.

i can get a transfer case for 85 bucks from the wrecker, but it's just a matter of finding someone to put it in...

money's not an issue, i was just seeing if anyone herehad a good estimate/idea of what it would be around..

also, the vibration just started within the past week..after getting an oil change done.

not sure if changing the oil would have anything to do with it, but im almost 100% surethe vibration is coming from the transfer case. (i could be wrong though)

i'll take it in next week, and find out what the exact problem is, and go from there.
