Upper Control Arms and CV Axle Question

Upper Control Arms and CV Axle Question
I have a 1996 Blazer 4x4 4dr and I have 2 questions.
1. I am going to be replacing the upper control arms tomorrow and I am wondering if you guys have any tips for that or if there is any thing I should know when dealing with this specific vehicle since its my first time working with a blazer.
2. I believe my right CV axle needs replaced. Would it be easier to just do it all at once tomorrow while I have it all tore apart?
Thanks!

Yes, easiest to replace the cv axle while you have it apart for the control arms. Be sure to mark the position of the cams and bolts on the upper control arms before you take them out. Put them back in the same position and your alignment won't be too far off until you can get it aligned.

yeah, this can be one job...easy.
and i would put a nice coat of anti-seize between the cv axle and the "axle shaft" you never know when you might need it off.

I have a 1997 blazer and my upper control arms have light rust on them. So just make sure you have the proper tools to remove some of those bolts (18mm to 21 or 22mm), WD-40 and possibly a good size wrench or cheater bar for breaking the bolts.
Also, i would go ahead and replace the upper control arm ball joints while your replacing the upper control arms. Check out autopartswarehouse.com, you can find O.E. replacement ball joints for your model for around $25.
