Wheelbase dimensions?

Is it me, or are the dimensions different? From drivers side to pass side, front axle vs rear axle. Is the rear axle shorter than the front?

the front axle is indeed wider than the rear 1.5" difference iirc

Ok, next question, why is the front wider than the rear?
