I am making the shackles out of the flat stock not the spring we had to go to 3 & 1/2 inches to get it to sit level

If im able to i would actually like to go a little higher if i could. How many inches of lift can i go with the shackles before i have to worry about anything? Is 4-5 inches of lift safe?
