not going to lie..... when i was 16 and the truck belonged to Dad, i went up to a shut down elementary school's back lot and laid patch. right tire smoking and left barely moving...

it was me and my buddy with his explorer. did it once for a good 30 foot patch then left. after that, the occasional squeak when turning onto fast roads but never a "watch this" moment.

my best ones(2) were in a 1981 chevy gaucho(full size chevy van) 350 with a pinched rear brake line.

1st one was 90 feet(up hill)
2nd was 90% tread to a blow out(one spot)

both were not on public roads of course.

only one I have done in my blazer was inside our old shop, putting new tires on so roasted the old ones off.. hooked onto a truck outside to save brakes

I admit I did one or two one wheel wonders when I first got it, none longer than 5-7 seconds though I'd say. Never chirped the tires while driving though I can say. I drive like an old man...

Now rolling away from a stop while spinning the tires on wet pavement, I have done two times. Once in the back of a walmart parking lot at like 3am (just to do it...) The other was just thursday. I was coming home from work at about 2:30 in the morning and had a 1st gen s10 pull up to me while driving. Rode side by side and admired each others rides. Then he turned down a side street the same way I was going. At the stop sign he wheel hopped a little bit and then turned around and looked at me.

I think he had a 4 cyl. 5 speed and the pick up explains the wheel hop. Yes it was wet it had rained a good bit. I guess he thought I might have a 4cyl. auto trans and with the big tires I would'nt be able to do anything. We'll I mashed it all the way through 1st, let it shift, all the way through 2nd. Let it shift and half way through 3rd before I let off cause I was drifting sideways through a 3 way intersection on a empty back road. But still didn't want to take any chances.

First time I had spun a tire since I got the tires and new ring and pinion gears installed. He just gave me a dirty look at the next light when I pulled up rumblin beside him, lol. He did a peg leg burnout at the light and took off in one direction. I simply slowly took off in the other direction like I normally do, with a on my face of cource. Like I said, I normally drive 60mph in a 70 zone on the highway, so I'm not the wreckless type at all.

BTW I'm 24

When I was in my 20's I had an '80 GMC Sierra Grande 4x4, a true brick chit house!
Ugly as sin & had a rebuilt 350 4 bolt mains, th350 with a shift kit, np203 (think thats the one with the gear drive), a govenor driven posi rear end (12 bolt rear, 10 bolt front) rusty as all hell & started in -40C/-40F without being plugged in.

You do not EVER want to do a burn out with a govenor driven posi!!! (they shift from the tire that has lost tarction to the other side, when that one spins it shoves power to both & then repeats the ordeal) Once it POPS & the rear STOPS... FUBAR is upon you lmao!
They're great to have & work wonders on slippery roads & off road but are a HUGE biotch to fix... I was going down a road at 50mph after it 'popped' & it locked = no movement/rotation from the rear end OMFG what a freak lol (pieces of the ring gear lodged in the pinion & stopped any & all rotation of the rear end)

But I will say, for the 20 seconds or so I enveloped my truck in smoke & hearing that rearend switch back n forth & forth n back... WOW!

Im 26 and did a burnout in my blazer. It is fun to do those, but is expensive and a huge worry if you blow something out and not realize you blew it out when youre doing it. Besides, gas is becoming to expensive to be mashing gas to leave strips and show off for a couple seconds. 5 seconds of burnout fun = 1/4 - 1/2 tank of gas wasted.

Ive done a burnout in a 84 ford escort hatchback, because i hate fords and wanted to blow it up. it was falling apart anyway. literally, falling apart. The rear axel was held in by a 3/4" thick steel channel that i had to weld in to hold the axel from falling out. The frame lost pieces everytime i hit a bump, the rear shocks fell completely out, the passenger front tire fell off while i was driving down the road, which was the final straw for me. but it didn't blow up.. the brakes went out on it, when i had it parked before taking it to the scrap yard though..

Done one in a 76 Camaro Z28 when i was a little under 13. Brothers car, just finished working on it, told me to test it out HAHAHAHAHA Strips all the way down the street, thru the stop sign and half down the next street. god i loved that car. i want one because of that.

Done one in a 92 Olds achieva (my car before i got the blazer) just to see if i could do it with that piece of crap. It worked. surprised my homie chris, and myself.

2006 Kia Optima, surprised me when i did it in that though. Just finished changing the thermostat and was "opening" it up to make sure it worked. Mashed the gas and left a strip by accident. oops, don't tell my wife.. it was her car.

Thats about the the end of my list. Nothing spectacular, except the camaro. The rest weren't made for the burnout aspect. none were done on public roads (cops are everywhere and i can't afford to lose my license or a ticket+fine) all were done in deserted parking lots of abandoned buildings, except the camaro.

I was given the keys to an 84 vette back in high school to drive.... Wasnt my car... tires didnt get burnt, again given the keys to an LT1 Camaro convertible in high school.... and again tires didnt get burnt... wasnt my car... idk....

But I had a horrible mentor *giggle giggle*
I was with my family in vegas one year, and my grandpa rented a mustang (it was 2005) and a newer body style... we were sitting in the 2 place in line at a light... He power break'd it for about 20 seconds until we got a green.... Funniest thing I ever saw

I didn't buy the blazer for burn outs. I don't have the funds to allow anything to go wrong with this truck. So she hasn't really seen over 2000 rpm's for the past couple weeks.

GRANNY STYLE!!

Never was a fan of burnouts. Having to buy and replace all the parts on all my cars got expensive. And after seing a tire basically melt off of a buddies F-150 while he was doing a burnout got me thinking about the likelihood of the same happening to me.

No thanks!!
