Good deal! I am about to pick up a 74 Jimmy that is a total mess, but has a D44 / 12-bolt I won't be using.

It is safe to run it without the matching front if I take the front shaft out right? One of my locking hubs stays locked, do I have to make sure its unlocked?

So you are gonna have a 3:73 in the front and a what in the rear? Yea, you can get away with it... You can leave the front drive shaft in place and even leave both hubs locked as long as you leave your t-case in 2wd.

No, 3.73 in the rear til my buddy gets home from Myrtle Beach and we can tear out the front.

Oh, I was going by your sig... Just leave the t-case in 2wd till you get matching gears again. Also, if the rear is differen't than before... remember your speedo will be off from before.

Yea, stock I had 2.73... so now it's really messed up. It said I was doing 90 when I was probably going 60ish lol
I should have a matching front in a weel or so.

Try removing the adapter from between your speedo cable and your t-case... might help a little with speedo accuracy.

I've got a Tach. so that helps. I figure 55 is around 2500 now (used to be 1500 two rear ends ago lol). I've got to wait until the weekend to work on it tho, cause I work all week and I don't have time before I go in to get under her and get dirty, then clean up. Oh, and she's definitely gettin put through the mud bog next week, its going down! lol

Poor rear end... it doesn't know what awaits it.
