first off I have no idea where this goes sub forum wise so I apologize in advance. I have a 99 Bravada that I just bought. the VIN code and mechanics I've talked to so far this week tell me I should have 4-wheel disc brakes. I swear to God I am seeing drums on the rear. shouldn't rear discs be exposed through the alloy star wheels or do I just not know what I'm looking at? does this mean somebody axle swapped on me? did the 99 become a split year for disc versus rear drum?
Technically speaking, even the disc rear ends have drum components in them, for the parking brake.
The drum part is very visible at first glance, but the way the rotor is dished, the actual disc that the brake pads ride on is set back pretty far, so it may be more difficult to see.
Keep in mind yours is probably not going to have the aluminum wheel spacers, or be painted so brightly lol
