every time i drop below about 20 miles an hour my steering becomes ludicrously difficult to turn. what could cause this, im pretty sure its not my power steering fluid, though im not sure where to fill it at, could it have anythign to do with my brakes?

a whole new rack?, uggh... me no like, how much do those run normally

Well, blazers don't have steering racks as that is typically associated with rack-and-pinion steering gears. I'd check your power steering pump first.

well im pretty mechanically dumb, so they dont have a "rack" even on the old k-5s? well in that case what does the power steering pump look like?

Open the hood and look at the motor. On the right hand side is the power steering pump, driven by a fan belt. There is a lid on the top. Open the lid and check inside for fluid. The fluid should come up to the bottom of the neck.
