Been looking for wheels for awhile now and suddenly last night I got a set of 78-82 Corvette alloys dropped in my lap for $100. Has anyone ever ran corvette wheels and or know of any issue with it? BS ends up being 5.5 if I'm doing the math right. A set of the Camaro aluminum star wheels came my way also for $150. Now I can't decide!

 

I tried fitting some on a 1st gen and they hit the tie rod ends and were quite close to the lower ball joint. The offset and width would be fine if they were 18" or larger diameter. My fix was using a spacer to create clearance from the tie rod.

 

Stock backspacing on a 4wd is 6", so those only move the tire out 0.5". Depending on tire width, they might work on a 2nd gen

 

I ended up ordering Pro Comps and will get them put on with new tires next week. The Franken-Jimmy is coming along quite nicely! Wish I could figure out how to post some pics when complete.
