Default 18x8 on nonZR2 4x4

Hey,

I have an 04 Jimmy. Blue, 2dr 5spd manual 4x4 with a levelling kit, tint and exhaust. I found a set of 18x8s and they come in either a 35mm or a 42mm offset. The bolt pattern is different and I'd have to run an adapter/spacer.
What would be recommendations for width of spacers and tire size (still want some decent sidewall tho). I've done a lot of research and have found a few answers but not specific to my needs. My stock size on the Jimmy is a 15x7 with 38mm offset? Not sure if that's correct. And on a 235/75r15 tire.
Any help would be much appreciated.
