Default 275's on a 15x7" rim?

Looking to go wider the next time I buy tires. I currently have 255/60/R15's at all four corners. They're about and inch shorter than stock 235/70's. I'm looking to go to 275/60's, which are very close to stock height. According to Tire Rack, they will fit on the stock rims. So, has anyone tried it? How'd it look? Any negative consequences from it? Thanks!

They will fit; however it is not recommended because the section width is 9.5". Which means the sidewalls of the tire will be folded in, therefor causing horrible and unsafe handling, and rapid tire wear.

there's nothing wrong with putting a 9.5" tire on a 7" wheel.

and as for the rapid wear & unsafe/horrible handling, i ran 255 & 275/60's on my '81 full size, never ever had any issues with it.

You are right, there is nothing wrong with it, it can be done, but to intentionally put that type of stress on the sidewall and bead wire of that tire a waste of money. You'd certainly be better off with an 8" wheel, but what do I know,I've only been in the tire and wheel biz for 20+ years.
