anyone put c6 corvette rims on 4x4?
i am going to put c6 corvette rims on my 00 jimmy ang i would like to know what size spacers you may have used with the 19x10.5 rims on the back? i have 1 1/4 now and i think that will be perfect but would like to know what others have done. also how did the 18x8.5 work on the front? did you have any rubbing? i should have sad my jimmy is lowered 3 front 4 back. what size tires have been used? i would like to ask some question so i will know what to expect. thanks to anyone that can help!
Corvette's have 2 different sized rims don't they? 18's in the front and 19's in the rear if I'm not mistaken. You'd have to get all fronts or all rears to run on a 4x4. Different sized rims or tires will mess with your 4x4 system.
never heard anything like that. why would it make a difference? well any ways i got the rear on. used 1.25 spacers. 19x10 rims and 275/40/19 tires and had no problems at all. just waiting for the fronts . they are 18x8.5 rims and 255/45/18 tires. cant wait
Simply, the bigger wheels in the back cover MORE surface area in 1 turn, than the front wheels... If they're turning at the same speed the front wheels won't be able to keep up.
Since you've dropped the $$$$$$on the wheels... just don't use 4x4 with those wheels on, just in the winter, unless it's a Garage dweller during the snowy months. I don't know how hard it would be on the system, 275/40/19's are 27.66in in diameter, and 255/45/18's are 27.03in in diameter... it'd be enough to cause wear though IMO.

oh yeah i will put my stock jimmy wheels back on. who wants to spend all that time and money and get them beat up in the snow. thank you for the great info. i did not think of that. i was just trying to make it look good. i can tell you that even lowered it worked great in the snow. we got about 23 inches this year. thats a lot for us but no problems
Don't put different sized rims on if you plan on using 4x4. Pat explained it pretty well. You will end up destroying your 4x4. Hell, even different sized tires can ruin your 4x4 system. I can't even imagine what a different sized rim will do.
I sure hope you can return the rims where you bought them, because you shouldn't be running them on a 4x4 truck if you use 4x4 EVER.
