Default Best Backspacing for my set-up

Well I want to lift me 97 ls blazer with a 2 inch body lift and a t-bar crank and shackles. Also I'd like to throw a set of 16's or 17's. I was looking at about a 265/70-17 and was wondering what backspacing would be best to run on a 17 inch wheel. I dont mind if it rubs at full lock. The wheels I am looking at now only have 4.5 inches of backspacing. Thanks

The closer to stock backspacing the better your front end will like you. 4.5" is pretty much ok and you shouldn't have too many problems as far as front end components wearing out too fast. You may have to do some trimming so they don't rub, though.

You should be fine with the lift and the 265s on a 4.5' backspaced rim. I've got 1.5 lift and just needed a small bit of trimming to clear 265s on 4.5' bs rims. I havn't had any issues with the 4.5' backspacing in about 10k miles....except I have developed a minor groan in the power steering...probably just needs some new fluid though, I havn't really checked into yet[:-]
