I've always put the new tires on the front...
Always better to be able to stop and steer.

It doesn't really matter if you put them ont he front or back.
You do rotate your tires don't you?
Hard to beat free.
Nice score.
I scored some 285/75R16 (33"x11.5") Cooper Discovery ST tires for free once. Found out they were under recall and it cost me $10 (for chrome valve stems) to get a brand new set of Cooper Discovery STT tires. They didn't have 4 of the ST in stock, and the STT were on sale so they were actually less in cost then the ST. Timing is everything sometimes.
Forgot to add.
you can run your factory fullsize spare, provided you put it on the rear axle and deflate the tire on the opposite side of the axle to match diameter. No doubt your ABS light will go off, detected a difference in tire size from front to back.
