ok, i've read the MANY topics on this, but as every size is slightly different, here is the ones im looking to get.
i know they will fit ( 5 x 4.75") but the backspacing issue is what i dont get.
current wheel is:
P235/70/R15 tire
stock blazer alloys

the replacement wheels are:
P215/65/R17 tire
Size : 17" x 9"
Backspacing : 6.875"
Bolt pattern : 4.75"
Material : Aluminum

from what i have read the backspacing on a 4x4 (96) is 6". this makes it a 0.875" difference. now i am guessing that the 0.875" is TOWARD the vechile.
also the width of the rim on the new ones are 9", while i belive the stock rims are 7". this would also move the tire inside edge 1" closer.
so the NEW setup would move the inside of tire edge 1.875" closer?
is this really an issue? the "rubbing" would only be in making a U-Turn, correct? not make a regular turn?
thanks.

anyone?
basically i want to make sure my math is correct, that these would be 1.875" closer to the vechile and if there is rubbing, is it just uturns, or any yurn with them being about 2" closer.
thanks

Since backspacing is the measurement from the back of the rim to the mounting surface, this rim combination will be 0.875" closer to the truck than your current rims. The additional 1.125" (2" - 0.875") rim width will extend out. I would be more worried about the tire. 215 section width is narrow for a 9" wide rim...
