265/75r15 they measure to like 30.6" tall and about 10.5" wide

 

And you're lifted a little? and word, I just ordered a set of four for myself 235/75R15 on 15x7x4.25in wheels. They should be installed by tuesday. I could have probably gone bigger on stock height but I'd rather not deal with rubbing/fender trimming etc...

 

Yeah, I'm lifted slightly, about 2" but I need to get more. Right now they rub the frame, but with some wheels with less backspacing they wont rub the frame but they will rub the fender, which is where another 2" of lift will help.

 

If it rubs in the back of the fender because of unsufficient backspace at the wheel. How will jacking the ride height improve the clearance there? I can understand above centerline.

 

Right now it rubs at the frame because of insufficient backspacing. When i get my new wheels it will push the tires away from the frame but closer to the outer edge of the fender. A 2" body lift will lift the body up away from the horizontal centerline of the tire. This way the edge of the fender will be closer to the top of the tire and will hopefully keep it from rubbing. If it still rubs then I will need to trim into the inner fender and outer edge a little to keep the outside of the wheel from rubbing. And yes, I will be getting a wider stance from this so it will help offset the height I am gaining from the lift so no, I don't think it will be unsafe and terrible to drive. I will drive with the same caution I do now.

 

The wider stance WILL make it safer

 

Newguy: Have you thought what that does to the scrub radius, and corner weight jacking? And all that with a higher CG.

I got them on but I had problems with clearing the caliper unfortunately so I had to throw cheap pep boys spacers on until the good spacers come. I get some wheel wobble now but it's okay. I got 15x7x4.25 wheels http://www.summitracing.com/parts/brw-997573442 and the Cooper AT3's 235/75/R15. There's a sweet spot in which I rub on the back of the front fender (ever so slightly, I'm stock height).

The more wide I go, the more chance I have to rub, right? I want to get the bolt on spacers but the problem is that the smallest they make is 1inch. Putting me 2.75 inches wider than stock wheels, and I already rub with a 5/16th inch spacer on the fronts (plus the 1.75 inch less offset). Do serious problems arise if I were to even the front wheels with the back wheels (I understand there's a 1.3 inch offset difference stock from the rear to the front)? Or should I just get 4 even spacers all around? Fact is, I need spacers and just am unclear on the whole thing.

Regardless, I am happy (so far) with the wheels and tires.

 

what part of the calipers are rubbing?

 

Like the outside little bulge out towards the top.
