Default new rims

got some black american racing rims and they have some rust. what kind of sand paper should i use because i want to repaint them eather flat black or gloss black.

simple.

use some 120 to knock down the rust. then follow up with some 320 to get rid of the coarse sanding marks.

then scruff the whole wheel with a red Scotchbrite pad. clean with all the usual prep stuff for painting.

Priming helps out a lot on wheels the paint holds up much better than if u just paint it. I used 60 grit and then 120 grit and finally some 300 grit to smooth it out. I used red primer just so you know you have enough paint on top.
