So im thinking of doing a 6 inch suspension lift and a 2 inch body lift on my completely stock 96 blazer 2dr 4x4. i need to know what tires i can fit and what size rims i need, or if i can fit my current rims on them. im looking at these tires: 32-1150 R15LT Cooper Discoverer STT Tire Item-90000003123 i have read lots of good reviews on them. i need your help please! thanks!

First decide on the tire size you want then you can find a rim from that. The stock rims are 15inx7 normally the max size tire is 31in being the minimum rim width is 7in for the tire. I would aim for 33in tires myself. At this size 4.10 gear swap is highly recommended also. You may get by with 3.73 but 3.42's gears will be a huge drag.

If I was you I would find what size of tire you want after you get the rim size you want then scope out a local shop for tires. They will be cheaper in the long run when 4 tires cost $100 to ship. And if there is a problem just bring them back.

Camaro/firebird/corvette rims will fit some may need spacers I am not sure what ones will but they come in from 15in and bigger and they are also wider rims, not exactly sure on the specs. Search for the specs. If you are looking check Craigslist list. Do remember a bit of work will make $200 rims shine and look like $500. hmm okay. i found a set of cooper discovery all terrain tires 305/75/17 tires for 50 bucks, what would i need to do to fit them? theres nothing on that other thread about 25 inch tires

 

To fit a 35" tire that wide you're going to need a ton of lift. 6" suspension lift, 2" body lift, and I'm almost certain you're going to end up having to trim your fenders a ton as well. Finding the right wheels will be important too. You'd have to have a maximum of 4.5" of backspacing to keep from rubbing on the frame and sway bar, but even with 8" of lift I'd bet you'll rub the fenders front and rear really bad.

In my opinion unless your willing to chop up your truck and going with a solid front axle with 8" of suspension lift I wouldn't recommend anything bigger than a 33" tall tire.

 

yea that's what i started thinking today, i'll just go with a 33 inch tire and then there should be plenty of space, right? also, the further the tires stick out, (i don't know if that's backspacing or the offset, or whatever it is) wouldn't that make the tires rub less?

 

Backspacing is the depth from the mounting surface where the rim sits on the hub to the back lip of the rim. Factory 4x4 rims have 6" back spacing. The less backspacing there is the more the wheels are pushed outward from the vehicle. Less backspacing will mean the tires will be less likely to rub on the frame, but they will be more likely to rub on the fenders when you're turning, so you may end up trimming a bit off your fenders as well.
