Missaero, If you do you the acid method, BE SURE not to leave it on the rims for long or you won't like the results.. trust me.

Uh oh... sounds like someone knows from experience...

If nothing else works for you, depending on the colour of the truck, you could always sand and powder-coat them a gun-metal colour, or a nice gloss black. I had a set of gun-metal coloured rims on my Silver Cavalier before I bought the Blazer and it looked awesome.
