I have a stock 2003 blazer, 4 door, 4X4, and I think it has tire size (235X75X15) or whatever stock is. I am new to this and have never bought tires for my blazer. So I am looking for some suggestions on what tires to buy and possibly where to buy them. Should I look online or would it be cheaper to find them locally and go that route. I don't do any off roading, but where i live in southern illinois they don't plow any snow for like three days and when they do i wouldn't even call it plowing. It is mostly just normal everyday driving, but I do drive on the highway a lot and put on about 1000-1200 miles a month. I was stock size tires and something that is quality. I have been looking around, and again i have no idea what im talking about, and i like the look of the BFG all terrain (all black lettering), but from what i have been reading it sounds like the tire that alot of people recomend and like. Is this something that would work for me, or is it way overkill. Any suggestions like these tires? Also i was looking around and saw people using the all black crager rims, are these good rims or would sticking with the stock rims be a better choice. I know this post sonds dumb but just looking for some advice and information, thanks again!

I have a set of toyo opencountry at. they have been a great tire on and off road. have yet to use them in the snow, but from friends that have had these on a lot of vehicles tell me these are a great tire. i got mine for a little over $400 at belltire. this was a steal since i got 30x9.5x15 for all four. but i believe its about $415 for stock size out the door with no discount.

Tires are as varied as women's shoes and you will get responses advisingthat the tires on their vehicle are the best. You driving habits has a lot to do with which tire you require, wheather off-road, highway, street, snow, mud, rain or dry weather only. I have not had a bad experience with any tire since 1967 when I destroyed four E60 x 14 Firestone Red Line Wide Ovals on a new 1967Firebird 400. Since then Yokohama has purchased Firestone Tire and Rubber Company and now Firestonetires are 100% better. However, the bad reputation of the poor quality Firestones will be withconsumersfor many more years to come.
A P235/75R15 (108S) tire isstandard for a 4WD Blazer. The warranty is firstthing you should use to make a choice and you cannot beat a Wal-Mart price and warranty no matter which tire you choose. Most large companies with large fleets of vehicles, and that includes Wal-Mart, will buy their tiresat fleet prices without a warranty. Thenthe company does notbother with a warranty orthe retailers like Wal-Mart provide a warranty tocustomersthemselves. That is why Wal-Mart's tires areless expensivethan most.If a tire manufacturer provide a tire warranty such as at a Goodyear or Firestone Tire store, you will pay for the warrantyin the price of the tire. You do not have to buy the tires that Wal-Mart has in their stores. Wal-Mart has a larger selection of tires you can order on-line and have them shipped to the nearest Wal-Mart automotive department. The other thingsto look for is the qualifications of the technicians, cleanliness and quality of the equipment being used to balance and installtires. You want installers that know how to take care of delicate alloy wheels and upon request, they will be glad toput adhesive balance weights on the inside rim of the wheels. Look in the tire storefor aHunter GSP9700balancing computerthat is capable of ROAD FORCE BALANCING. Don't take the store manager's word for it. UsuallyRoad Force Balancingis not necessary. The Wal-Mart tire departments near me do not havethe Hunter GSP9700 Road Force Balancing computer. It usually cost about $16 extra for each wheel and tire to have them Road Force Balanced. Don't waste the money doing ituntil you road test yourtires first to see if they need that type balance.
I have Cooper P235/75R15tireson my 1991 Blazer4WD. I will purchase new tires next April and they will be P235/75R15 Uniroyal Laredo Cross Country (108S) from a new Discount Tire store near me. Uniroyal Tire Company is owned by Michelin but that does not mean the Uniroyal tires are made under the same quality control as Michelin. Uniroyal tire company is the samecompany it has been for 75 years.
The main reason I will buy P235/75R15 (108S) Uniroyal Laredo Cross Countrytires (60,000 mile limited warranty) and not some other brand is because my rear mounted spare isa Uniroyal Laredo Cross Country and it is the originaltire that came on my1991 Blazer whennew and has never been on the ground. The only thing i don't like about Uniroyalis that they only have open raised white letter tires. That is a featureyou must clean and take car of constantly.
