I am about to buy tires for my 72 K5 4x4 and want to make a good choice.
On it now are General 31x10.50 R15LT M/S about 50% worn.
On my Land Cruiser I got Nittos and have had more flats and ruined tires in a year and a half then in my last 10 years of driving. I have not had it off road but did pick up nails and ruined one with a bolt I ran over.
I was thinking BGF All Terrains or Toyo Open Country ATII's.
I am open to other options but I dont want to pick a fragile off road tire.
Maybe it has just been bad luck on the Nittos who knows.
I also want them a little taller I would prefer 1-2" taller then what I have now and I think 12.5" wide.
What suggestions do you guys make? I have stock 15" wheels now but might by something 16 or 17" if that would make a better choice.
I am looking for rally style wheels I believe so it keeps a stock appearance.
Thanks PG
