Corvette rims seem like larger diameter than 15s? Seems like an expensive way to go.

What does everyone here do when they put the pro comps or other more utility looking wheels?

It has been getting harder and harder to get 15 inch wheels and tires with any quality and variety. This will only get progressively more difficult. Now is a good time to jump to 16in running gear and not look back!

Your Chevy doesn't want smaller back space, and for sure not 1 1/2in. Its trying to tell you but you can't hear, at least not right away. You will hear eventually.

If you want pro comp style wheels they make a 15x7 4.25" back spaced wheel that will fit with 235/75 tires with no issues.

Or try to find some old cragars or centerline wheels from late 70s firebird or camaros although those will typically be 15x8, 3.5" - 4" back space

This is a previous blazer i owned that had 3.75" backspace 15x8 pro comp wheels with 235/75/15 tires:

The front tires will rub a bit over large bumps if you don't roll the fenders though.

I am running 15x8's with a 3.75 backspacing -19mm offset and they rubbed on the corner of the fender at full lock, but nothing a hammer can't fix to make some room.
